Frequently Asked Questions

1. Who is Giveashirt?

Giveashirt is a fundraiser dreamt up by Toolangi resident, Helen Collier. The sole aim is to directly support businesses and communities affected by the February 2009 bushfires. 

2. Where can I get shirts?

You can buy direct from this website, or from retailers listed on our outlets page.

3. Where does the money go?

All profits will go to fire affected businesses and communities.  

$5 from the sale of every shirt will go into a holding account, to be distributed for the benefit of businesses in fire affected areas (as named on your shirts). This will be carried out periodically through the relevant Chamber of Commerce, as funds accrue.  A running tshirt tally of funds raised for each community can be seen here.  

Any surplus funds, after costs, will be distributed at the end. 

4. Can I place a wholesale order?

5.  Do the t-shirts come in other colours? 

Toolangi and Castella t-shirts are special(!) and come in 2 designs, (I heart Toolangi, as well as NY), in baby pink or white, with v neck and round neck options.  They are available to buy at the Toolangi and Castella businesses named in the Outlet section.  Coloured t-shirts, with the same v neck options and a choice of design (eg I heart xxxxxx), can be ordered for your community name, with a minimum order of 20 t-shirts.  

Healesville also wanted to be different and have had black I heart Healesville t-shirts made up as well as the white NY ones.  These can be purchased from Healesville outlet, Yarra Valley Winery Tours - see outlets for further details.

6.  How do we know that $5 from each shirt sale, will definitely reach the businesses in the community on the front of my t-shirt?

Arrangements are in place with 4 Chambers of Commerce, who will administer the $5 profits from the sale of each shirt under their jurisdiction.  Healesville Chamber of Commerce, Yarra Glen Chamber of Commerce, Marysville & District Chamber of Commerce and Kinglake Ranges Tourism and Business Association.

7. How long will it take before I get my t-shirt?

T-shirts will be dispatched twice weekly, on Monday and Wednesdays.  If your t-shirt is in stock when you order, it will be dispatched out to you within 3 working days of placing your order.  T-shirts for a new place name may take longer, as t-shirts will be need to be produced once a minimum of 20 shirts have been ordered.  We currently have a bit of a wait on a few ladies sizes that have proved too popular - so please stop being a size 12 all you women out there!
